Northpoint

Northpoint was the third island we purchased in April of 2007. At that point, SLCN had not really been born, and Northpoint "seemed like a good idea". We had no idea what we would do with it.

Around that time, SLCN was born, rather informally, then began to gain momentum. The first real show, "Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe" took several months of pre-production. Around August of 2007, we needed a place to film it, and we dedicated space on Northpoint. Originally, the studio was built by Wiz Nordberg in a style which Paisley dubbed affectionately the "German Airport Style". The studio is approximately in the same place it was (central part of the island) but has since been redesigned several times with Paisley's guidance. Notably, she decided not to emulate the German Airport Style which I started out with. I will leave it to your imagination what the original studio may have looked like.

Meanwhile, Bill Stirling was commissioned to turn Northpoint into an area for SLCN shows. The round building at the far north and the studio building were built by Bill along with some common areas which have since been replaced, moved, or overrun with other objects.

Another show producer, Saffia Widdershins, decided to locate their studio for Designing Worlds (previously Meta Makover) on the island, Paisley's Perfect World productions group started another show, with another studio, Fabulous Fashion.

Currently, in regular use on the island are:

• The Tonight Live Studio
• The Fabulous Fashion Studio
• The Designing Worlds Studio

The rest is to be determined by the redesign project in progress.
